Vineyards: The grapes for the Piattelli Premium Chardonnay are grown in our vineyards located in Tupungato, Mendoza, at 3,940 feet above sea level. The soils are loamy, with warm and sunny days and cool nights that favor the development of the aroma precursors. We use a system of conduction of bilateral cordon, which allows us a yield of 12,000 kg per hectare.

Harvest: Picked by hand on March 6th, 2008 in the early morning, in order to harvest during the coolest time of the day; clusters carried out in boxes of 18 kg.

Vinification: As soon as the grapes reach the winery, in the first hours of the morning, they are pressed immediately upon their arrival. The must is then cooled in order to achieve the highest clarification. The malolactic fermentation begins with selected yeasts. Twenty percent of this Chardonnay is fermented in French oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel tanks. The temperature is controlled and it never rises above 18º C, in order to avoid the loss of aromas.

Aging: Twenty percent is aged in French oak barrels for 6 months; eighty-percent is aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months.

Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes: The Piattelli Premium Chardonnay 2008 possesses a bright yellow color, with aromas of citrus combined with honey and vanilla. In the mouth this wine has a buttery texture; it has a balanced acidity with a persistent finish.
